USGBC LEED Consulting & Administration

Our LEED consultants will work with clients though the USGBC LEED application and certification process and assists them through the entire design, construction, and operational phases. This includes LEED v2009, LEED v4, LEED v4.1, and LEED recertification for all building types. documenting and implementing measures to reduce carbon footprint and improve the health and the vitality of building occupants. Two Trails stays involved with the entire project team and handle all of the paperwork that make certain that the project building is certified on time and with the most points possible.

Services include:

  • LEED Scorecard development

  • Feasibility Assessment or Eco-Charatte

  • OPR and BOD Creation

  • Product Specifications Review

  • LEED Submission and Construction Schedule

  • Templates for GCs and Subs

  • Written Construction Plans

  • Site Visits and Progress Reports

  • "LEED Online" management

  • Response to LEED comments

Envision Certification

Envision Certification measures the sustainability of infrastructure projects. Project owners can use the framework to incorporate innovations into their project during the design or construction phase to earn an Envision Certification, celebrating the sustainability of their infrastructure project. Similar to how the LEED Certification works for buildings, Envision is a certification for infrastructure projects that meets sustainability goals. Envision Sustainability Professionals lead project teams through the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure Envision Verification Process. The use of Envision can benefit infrastructure projects in numerous ways including:

  • Long-term viability through increased resiliency and preparedness

  • Lower costs through management and stakeholder collaboration

  • Reduced negative impacts on the community and the environment

  • Potential to save owners money over time through efficiency

  • The credibility of a third-party rating system

  • Increased public confidence and involvement in decision-making

Green Globes Project Administration

Green Globes offers a different approach: one that provides in-depth support for improvements ideally suited to each project. Building owners and facility managers know their buildings and operations better than anyone else. The standard respects and leverages that knowledge with personalized assistance to produce best practices in sustainable design, construction and operations. Incorporating Two Trails as the third-party assessors throughout the certification process, allows us to forge a partnership that allows experienced green building project teams to shine and reduces the learning curve for those new to green building. Green Globes Certification benefits help you:

  • Reduce operating costs

  • Qualify for tax incentives and utility rebates

  • Meet government regulations

  • Attract and retain employees

  • Increase your property’s marketability

Energy Star Project Administration

ENERGY STAR Certification proves that a building performs better than at least 75% of similar buildings nationwide. If the certificate application gets approved by the EPA, the building receives an ENERGY STAR Certified decal, displayed on the front entrance of the building. ENERGY STAR certified buildings are also publicly listed on the ENERGY STAR website.

Who is eligible for ENERGY STAR certification?

Buildings become eligible for ENERGY STAR certification if they’ve been benchmarked through the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and received a score of 75 or higher, on a scale of 1 – 100. The ENERGY STAR score accounts for differences in operating conditions, regional weather data, and other important considerations. Many types of buildings are eligible for an ENERGY STAR score.

Energy Audits & ASHRAE Analysis for Existing Buildings

Whole building energy simulations, or simply energy models, are a powerful tool not only necessary to earn LEED certification, but more importantly, to assist the project team in accurately evaluating energy reduction strategies that maximize both energy and cost efficiency and minimize the impact on the environment. Energy models create estimations of energy usage for new construction and renovations of existing buildings. The analysis is based on the actual design and occupancy assumptions and is used to examine the energy performance in comparison to a baseline. The baseline is generally the minimum building code requirements such as ASHRAE 90.1 or other equivalents. The analysis should be used to optimize the building design and system performance before construction ends. The energy models can now address the complexity of projects and different emerging mechanical systems. Most state and local governments now require proof of energy efficiency measures to secure grants and tax incentives.

Commercial Energy Calculations

If you are building new or renovating an existing space, Energy and Load Calculations are likely required by your state to ensure that the HVAC equipment is sized correctly and that the project is being built to current energy efficiency standards per your states Energy Code Compliance. Let us incorporate your projects energy needs into the whole sustainable picture. The calculations are an important factor into and permitting or sustainable certification.
